Last 5 Reads
Since my review game has not been as strong as I would like, I thought I would discuss briefly some of my thoughts on my last 5 books that I have read! Don’t worry regular reviews will be back very soon! *furiously reads ARCs*
Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally
I recently participated in a twitter chat hosted by one of my favorite bloggers, Ginger at GReadsBooks featuring Trish Doller and Miranda Kenneally. I had heard about this series for awhile but seeing and hearing the excitement of Kenneally convinced me that I needed to give it a try. I got my ebook copy via my library’s Overdrive app and was pleasantly surprised! It took me a little time to connect with Jordan but I was quickly won over by her rag tag football group and grew to really enjoy the overall storyline! I will definitely be picking this series back up very soon! Great summer reads for sure!
Be My Hero by Linda Kage
One of my favorite New Adult series! This is the third book and is by far my favorite! Pick’s back story and how it evolves throughout really drew me in. Also, Eva’s growth from book one to three felt pretty natural and the romance was nicely done! If you are fan of NA, you need to check this series out!
The Foxe and the Hound by R.S. Grey
My first R.S. Grey did not disappoint! I’ve been hearing great things about her books and I loved this one! For one, I’m a sucker for dogs in books and I really enjoyed the banter throughout and the the awesome hijinks! This felt like a mixture of a small town romance mixed with an rom-com ala Alice Clayton style and I absolutely loved it! I have a feeling Grey may be an auto buy author from now on!
Where I Belong by J.Daniels
The first book in the Alabama Summer series, I have read two other books by this author and am slowly making my way through her backlist. Daniels are intense but very fun to read! She really kept me hooked and turning the pages! So much so that I read this in one sitting! The hero and heroine really balanced each other and I love how she writes male dialouge and side characters. I cannot wait to read book two (Tessa and Luke’s story) very soon!
Kulti by Mariana Zapata
Definitely my favorite on this list, I had a bit of a “journey” with this novel! It was originally suggested to me in a blind recommendation and I hated it at first! I don’t read alot of slow burn romances. I like my books quick, well written and fun and this does take time to get into. It took me about 250 pages to really get immersed but then I was addicted! I adore this novel and even consider it one of my favorite books of 2017! If you enjoy slow burn romances, grumpy heroes or sports romances you need this in your life! I’m officially a Mariana Zapata convert!
